BTS, a South Korean boyband, recently came into the White House and met Joe Biden, the president of the United States. It is reported that they talk about the hate crimes targeting Asians. After the meeting, the boyband talked briefly to the reporter.
“We were devastated by the recent surge of hate crimes, including Asian American hate crimes,” said Jimin, a band member of BTS.
Joe Biden is showing himself that the best he can do is using an influencer marketing to address the issue, the influencer is not even related to the issue. BTS is south Korean, they are not Asian American. They are not even facing Asian American hate crimes in South Korea. If Biden’s capability is only as far as influencer marketing, does the US lack of Asian American influencer?
BTS is just a tool for Biden’s administration in proceeding with their social justice causes. The Asian-American hate crimes campaign is just a news Black Lives Matter.
