In the recent months, we have seen that there have been a lot of companies (especially tech companies) laying-off their employees in Indonesia. Some expert calling it as the ‘Tech Winter’ or the winter season for the tech sector.
So, what does it mean by the tech sector meets its winter? A tech winter is term to describe the declining interest and investment towards tech sector or companies with advance technologies.
The declining interest and investment resulted in the tech companies have to re-arrange their priorities, their business strategies, their objectives, and their interests. The rearrangement of these is to answer the future uncertainties that the sector is facing.
Just like lay-offs, it might sound cruel, but it is necessary. Choice has to be made by corporate decision makers. It never easy but it has to be taken.
